What Do We Offer?

Individual Adult Counselling

Life can feel overwhelming when stress, anger, anxiety, trauma, or relationship issues start to affect your work, sleep, or sense of control. Individual counselling offers a private, focused space to understand what’s driving these struggles and to develop practical strategies that actually work in real life.

Working one-on-one with a registered therapist, you’ll learn how to manage intense emotions, break unhelpful patterns, and respond differently to situations that once felt unmanageable. Whether you’re dealing with a recent crisis or long-standing challenges, therapy can help you regain stability, clarity, and confidence.

Individual Teen Counselling

Counselling with NuLife Therapy

Adolescence can be confusing, intense, and emotionally overwhelming. Individual teen counselling provides a confidential, supportive space where teens can talk openly about stress, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, peer conflict, family challenges, or school pressures—without fear of judgment.

Using age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches, counselling helps teens build emotional awareness, coping skills, and healthy communication. The goal is not just to “talk,” but to help teens feel more in control of their emotions, improve relationships, and develop resilience that supports both their current well-being and future growth.

Couples Counselling

Couples Counselling with NuLife Therapy

When communication breaks down, conflict escalates, or emotional distance grows, couples counselling can help partners reconnect and move forward with greater understanding and respect. Therapy provides a neutral, structured space to address ongoing disagreements, trust concerns, life transitions, or intimacy challenges.

Couples counselling focuses on identifying negative interaction patterns, strengthening communication, and developing healthier ways to manage conflict. Whether you’re trying to repair your relationship or prevent issues from worsening, therapy can help you build a more stable, connected, and collaborative partnership.

Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

We offer individual adult counselling, individual teen counselling, and couples counselling. Services are tailored to support and address emotional, relational, and life challenges using evidence-based approaches.

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

Counselling can be helpful if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, emotionally reactive, or struggling with stress, relationships, or major life changes. A free consultation can help clarify whether counselling is the right next step for you.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. Counselling is confidential, with limited legal and ethical exceptions, such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or situations involving abuse of a minor or vulnerable person. These limits are explained in detail at the start of therapy.

How do I get started?

You can begin by booking a free consultation. This brief call allows us to understand your concerns, answer questions and determine whether our services align with your goals, without any obligation to continue.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes! We offer secure virtual therapy sessions across Alberta, allowing you to access counselling from the comfort and privacy of your home.

What happens in the first session?

The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, background, and goals for therapy. You will also have time to ask questions and get a clear sense of how the counselling process works.

How long is each session?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length.

How often do sessions take place?

Session frequency varies based on your needs and goals. Some concerns may be addressed in a short-term, focused manner, while others benefit from longer-term support. Progress is reviewed regularly to ensure therapy remains helpful and goal-directed.

Are your services covered by insurance?

Many extended health benefit plans cover counselling services. While coverage varies by provider, we provide detailed receipts to support reimbursement.

What’s your cancellation policy?

We require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows will incur the full clinician fee, as this time is reserved exclusively for you.

Do you offer low-cost or sliding-scale options for counselling?

Yes! We offer formal sliding-scale rates to help make counselling more accessible. Availability and eligibility can be discussed during your consultation.

Therapy with us is not about “fixing” you. It’s about understanding what’s been getting in the way, developing healthier responses, and helping you move forward with greater clarity, stability, and confidence.

Therapy with us is structured, collaborative, and focused on meaningful change, not just talking without direction.

You can expect a supportive, non-judgmental environment where your concerns are taken seriously. Early sessions focus on understanding your goals, concerns, and patterns so therapy has a clear direction and purpose.

We use evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs, with an emphasis on practical strategies, emotional regulation, and healthier ways of responding to life’s

challenges. Therapy is an active process that includes thoughtful discussion, reflection, and skill-building.

Progress is reviewed regularly to ensure therapy remains effective and aligned with your goals. You remain in control of the process, with decisions about focus, pace, and duration made collaboratively.
